The base opens into a set gusset once filled, giving the pouch a flat, stable footprint so it stands upright on the shelf instead of slumping or toppling. The zipper at the top can be opened and reclosed repeatedly, so the pouch is simply pressed shut after each use, which limits moisture pick-up and caking for granules used in portions.
The lamination combines a printed outer film, a barrier layer and a heat-seal inner layer, and this build carries both the load and the moisture protection. Front panels are printed by rotogravure, which holds colour saturation and fine detail well and can be laid out to the customer's own brand artwork, with a matt or soft-touch finish available for a finer hand feel.
Volume, film structure and zipper type are all set to suit the filling line and the retail format, and printing plates are made once the artwork is signed off. Samples are normally run first so shade and hand feel can be checked before bulk production; minimum order quantity and lead time follow the chosen structure and number of print colours.
